Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 package of Oreo cookies
  • 1 package of brownie mix, prepare as directed on the box
Method
  1. Heat oven to 350° F and line a 13″ x 9″ pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs followed by vanilla and mix well. Add the flour, baking soda and salt and continue to beat until well combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  3. Press the cookie dough evenly into the pan.
  4. Arrange the Oreos evenly on top of the cookie dough (One package is just enough to cover the whole thing).
  5. Prepare the brownie mix as directed on the package and pour batter over the top of the Oreos. (Use a spatula to spread it evenly).
  6. Bake for 40-50 minutes on the center rack of your oven or until a nice crust has formed. The center of the brownies will look slightly under baked but will set up as they cool.
Cooks Notes

For a way over the top dessert suggestion, serve these brownies slightly warmed with a scoop of ice cream and some chocolate syrup.
